| On the morning of October 28th, Lu Zushan, governor of Zhejiang, met with Thomas Lam, vice president of Cisco Systems, and other members of the group. Cisco is one of America’s leading suppliers of network equipment, electronics, IT and communication facilities. With annual revenue of 39.5 billion US dollars in 2008, Cisco ranked the 71st on the Fortune top 500. Mr. Lam hoped that their visit would help to promote further cooperation and exchanges in information technology and other aspects between Cisco and Zhejiang enterprises and government. The two sides held a talk about a wide range of subjects, including the development of information technology, the establishment of green research and development center, innovation and sustainable development, higher education and the training of IT personnel, and the training of senior enterprise management. Li Zhihai, director of Zhejiang Development and Reform Commission, Li Yanyi, deputy director of Zhejiang Development and Reform Commission, and officials from Foreign Investment Office and High-tech Office of the commission were present at the meeting. |
