Background and construction conditions: Changtu Town (Daishan County) has unique marine geographic position superiority and port resources, and it is at the center of south-north navigation center and 44 mile and 24 mile from Yangtze River Estuary and Yangshan Port (Shanghai international navigation center) respectively. Changtu has wide area, deep water and straight route, and is a famous natural harbor of refuge. In the planned large-sized along-port industry base, it will embank the beach between Dachangtu Island and southern small island Dayuanshan～Nanyuanshan～Mopanshan to make the area of Dachangtu Island reach 45 square kilometers. After the reclaimnation, along the sourthern portion one 12 km-long deep water coast of depth above 14 m (partially over 30 m) will be formed and it is suitable for building 50000-300000 tonnage- cargo docks, and is also the ideal place for developing deep port and large-sized along-port industry in Yangtze Delta. Construction scale and contents: Changtu Town large-sized along-port industry base needs total investment of about 8 billion RMB and it will reclaim 15 square kilometers and build a large-sized ship building-repair base, heavy chemical base and port logistics base. Preparation and progress status: Zhoushan Zhouji Group Company starts Shuangjian reclaimnation and the first phase will reclaim 11000-mu and need investment 200 million RMB.
